No Contracts EVER!
Most children cannot decide what
to do for the next three days let alone the next three years.
Treating this experience like a gym membership misses the point
completely. Self-discipline, trust, and wisdom are not gained
through a financial contract and we will not ask you to sign
one...period. We are positive that when you or your family begin
studying with us you will be engaged and motivated by more than
a financial obligation. We know you will be excited to take this
journey and work hard to grow personally and skillfully. But if
we are wrong and your path lies somewhere else or doing
something else we will wish you well
Delivering A Sound Mind, By Developing
A Sound Body
Why choose Just
For Kicks when there are hundreds of Dojos in Metro Atlanta?
Because the sport of Karate-Do is only part of the larger
philosophy of this art. While it is important to kick, punch,
and block; concepts like self-control, humility, and moral
leadership are equally important. Unfortunately, many dojos focus
on the physical, eliminating the mental completely or saying one
thing and doing another.
Gichin
Funikoshi, the father of Karate-Do said: The ultimate aim of
Karate lies neither in victory or defeat but in the perfection
of the character of its participants. These words set the
charter of Just For Kicks.
The Do
in Karate-Do means "the way", and teaches students the
principals needed to suceed not just in the dojo, but in all
aspects of life. Once exposed to our program, adults, children,
and parents all quickly realize the enhanced value of a
traditional martial arts education.
What Is Children's Self-Defense
Does your child know how to fend off an
adult trying to abduct them? Child abduction is not a new or
rare event. Infact the Department of Justice estimates 3000-5000
non-family abductions are reported to the police every year.
More concerning is that most abductions occur with a quarter of
a mile of the chlid's home. Just For Kicks provides free
training for children to help them stay safe. Class size is
limited so call today.
What Is Shuri-Ryu
Shuri-Ryu is an Okinawan style of
Karate-do. It is often called a "complete" style, meaning that
it encompasses all of the major and minor aspects necessary for
proficiency in an art of its kind. Among the fields of knowledge
contained in Shuri-Ryu are: Punching - Kicking - Blocking -
Stepping and Dodging - Joint-locking - Trapping - Take-downs -
Kyusho-Jutsu (Point striking) - Kobudo (Traditional weapons) -
Diet/Nutrition - Exercise Science.
What Are
Shuri-Ryu Weapons
In
1470, traditional weapons were confiscated by
the Japanese military; Okinawan commoners
utilized farming tools as weapons. The kama was
originally used for cutting grass. The nunte was
a fishing tool. The bo evolved from poles
balanced across the shoulders to carry water or
other loads. The sai is believed to have
originated with the pitchfork. The tonfa began
as a bean or rice grinder. Finally, the nunchaku
was originally an agricultural tool used for
threshing grain.
