About Us
Aikido
is Japanese martial art originally developed by Morihei Ueshiba.
Literally translated as ‘The Way of Harmony”, Aikido is a purely
defensive martial art that teaches you how to control an
opponent’s mental and physical energy in the form of throws and
joint pins that are derived from jiu-jitsu and some throws and
other techniques derived from kenjutsu. By developing one’s
coordination between their mind and body, Aikido practitioners
quickly learn that relaxation and development of Ki, (internal
energy) can overcome strength and tension.
Women and men of all ages can benefit from Aikido since
relaxation is of importance NOT physical strength and
flexibility. Practitioners learn to apply Aikido techniques not
only for self-defense but also in daily life through the
cultivation of their spirit and health.
