Mid Island Karate Dojo is a traditional Okinawan karate school teaching Shorin-ryu Karate-do as originally taught by the Grand Master Shoshin Nagamine. Mid Island Karate Dojo is dedicated to preserving the memory of the great karate masters past and present and to pay them honor and respect. All of our training is done under the guidance of Shorin-ryu Karate-do International (www.srkdi.com). Students at Mid Island Karate Dojo can advance through the kyu / dan belt system and become part of a martial arts family tree set deep in Okinawan tradition. Students will be taught kata (forms) and flow drills that will help them further understand the movements in the kata.

At Mid Island Karate Dojo the classes are small and designed to meet the needs of the student. All classes begin and end with respect. This is a key component necessary to achieve the goals set by ourselves to succeed in karate-do and life in general. Personal attention is given to each student to ensure that they meet their goals. This type of learning environment is necessary to achieve the most benefit of your time training here.
