About Us
Our specially designed curriculum has been utilized by many different private and homeschools around the Lehigh Valley in order to provide their students with a fun alternative to earn gym credit hours. Martial arts training is a great form of exercise which teaches students how to improve focus and discipline, defend themselves, and get into shape. Our classes will also help students to learn non-violent resolution of conflict, develop interpersonal relationships, foster positive attitudes, and may even motivate students to increase their grade point average. Students of the Aikido Masters program will also be exposed to Japanese terminology and martial history in order to furnish them with a truly well-rounded education.

Classes are offered for students age 5 and up. Lessons are given several times throughout the week in order to meet the needs of Lehigh Valley families.

Our Styles
The Aikido Masters curriculum was designed to incorporate many different aspects of the martial arts and give students a well-rounded education. It is comprised of Aikido, Aiki-jodo, Aikijutsu, Kenjutsu, Jujutsu, and Kempo.

Aikido: This art utilizes an attacker's momentum to combat an aggressor with a minimum amount of effort (maximizing efficiency). Through maneuvers such as "tai sabaki" (body Pivots) combined with "kansetsu-waza" (joint locks and arm bars) and "nage-waza" (body throws) a fighting scenario can easily be resolved. These techniques have their roots in Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu which works on the principle of "aiki" (soft, drawing techniques) rather than harsher methods of some other martial arts. The most evident distinction of this style versus other systems of Aikido is the addition of strikes before the techniques are put into motion. This is one factor which makes this art more practical.

Aiki-jodo: Aiki-Jodo translates as "Internal energy way of the staff." This art not only uses blocking and striking methods, but also incorporates locking, throwing, and disarming techniques making this a complete weapon system. In addition, kata (prearranged forms) are taught to train the body to react in the most practical way possible.

Jujutsu: In Fukasa-Ryu Jujutsu, or "System of Depth Gentle art of war," you are taught the old methods of the samurai. Along with the striking methods of Kempo, one will learn a wide variety of throws, locks, and disarms easily applicable in any situation.

Kempo is an ancient art of blocking and striking methods. These techniques are utilized in many of the Japanese throwing arts and will allow students to combat an aggressor effectively.

Iaijutsu/Kenjutsu: The study of the sword can be broken into two parts, the first being Iaijutsu. Iaijutsu is the "Quick draw live blade sword art," and focuses on using the sword from the sheathed position. Once the sword is drawn, the art of Kenjutsu is employed with various blocks, strikes, and disarms in its arsenal. Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu are the two sword arts that the samurai used during war time, making them combat effective. Iaido and Kendo, however, were created later on in peaceful times. The ancient arts of Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu are both beautiful and effective.
