Chief Instructor
Lee Lavi Ramirez is the chief instructor at North Valley Aikikai. She studies Aikido under the instruction of Shibata Shihan (master teacher), 7th Dan, chief instructor of Berkeley Aikikai and the chairman of the USAF Dojinkai. Shibata Sensei is a direct disciple of Kisshomaru Ueshiba, son of the founder of Aikido, O'Sensei. Lavi Ramirez is a graduate of Shibata Sensei's kenshusei (teacher training) program. Lee Lavi Ramirez, 3rd Dan, is a certified USAF Dojinkai Aikido instructor.

North Valley Aikikai is a 501(c)(3) federal non-profit educational institution committed
to teaching traditional Aikido. We strive to provide a safe environment, focused atmosphere
and enjoyable training.

Children & Teen Classes
Our children classes are open to children 6-12 and Teen classes are for 13-18 years old. Classes are educational as well as physical, based on martial arts discipline, and are dynamic and enjoyable. The children will learn non-aggressive techniques, as well as handling conflicts, and some Japanese traditions. Children will have the opportunity to improve concentration, balance and awareness, and practice the values of respect, consideration and sensitivity, through partner practice. Children and Teen classes are taught by Eli Ramirez, 2nd Dan, and certified LAUSD teacher.
