 Mr.
Steve Doss Being one of the first children in
America to train in the martial arts in 1969,
Master Doss has a lifetime of experience to
share with our students. Steve Doss spent his
youth as a family friend and student of martial
arts pioneer and legend Jim Harrison. He has
spent much of his life traveling the world
learning from and training with many of the
world's best martial arts masters.
Especially noteworthy, Steve Doss was a Black
Belt student of the late Demetrius "Golden
Greek" Havanas. "The Greek" is regarded as one
the greatest martial arts competitors and
instructors of all time.
Steve Doss has tested his skills around the
world in full-contact kickboxing. He was a
featured competitor on ESPN and NBC SportsWorld,
and was rated by every World Ratings
Organization as one of the Top 10 in the World.
Competing in Sport Karate Competition among the
best Black Belts in North America, he was won
and placed in over 200 events. Some of his more
notable victories include the U.S. Open Kumite
Grand Champion, All-American Karate
Championships Sparring Grand Champion, and
California State Black Belt Sparring Champion.
Have you seen the movie Bloodsport? It was not
fiction for Steve Doss. In 1990, he traveled to
Pusan, Korea to compete in the Korean National
Martial Arts Championships. Competing in the
Heavyweight division, he KO'd the defending
Korean National Champion with a head kick on his
way to winning the title of Heavyweight
Champion. In the final bouts, he was the Grand
Champion runner-up, the first foreigner to ever
win such a competition in Korea!
Master Doss personally selects and trains our
instructors, who are then Certified through
PREMIER MARTIAL ARTS. Only the most qualified
instructors teach our classes - who are skilled
in helping each of our students and families
reach their personal goals through the martial
arts.
Steven Doss opened his first school in Austin,
TX in 1983, with a personal quest to offer the
highest quality of martial arts training
available anywhere. Because of the high standard
of our instruction and training for our students
of all ages, we are honored to be rated as one
of the Top 200 Martial Arts schools in America
for 2004, 2005, AND 2006 (Black Belt Schools of
America). Our specialty is in helping students
and their families learn together.
Along with his vast experience, Master Doss has
earned his Black Belt ranking in five different
styles. Our students learn PREMIER MARTIAL ARTS
- a Mixed Martial Arts System that delivers the
best of multiple styles making you, our student,
the best of breed.
 About Us
Our Premier Martial Arts instructors go through a very
extensive selection process to insure we have only the best and
most talented instructors in the world. Once selected, they are
put through an intense and rigorous series of training colleges
to guarantee the quality of instruction that our students will
receive. Once a Premier Martial Arts instructor is certified to
teach our unique and effective system, they are then required to
receive 40 hours of continuing martial arts and instructor
education yearly.
This on going training allows our instructors to stay up to date
on the latest and most effective self defense techniques,
teaching methods, nutrition and exercise science. This
re-certification process is our assurance that every Premier
Martial Arts student will continue to receive only the very best
in martial arts training. Premier Martial Arts instructors are
professionals, we are experts in what we do. We expect our
instructors to be the best, so you can expect the best from our
