Leonard Carter,
5th dan in
judo, brings a half-century of judo experience to
our club. His specialty is competition.
Howard Nichols
holds brown belt rank in judo and is a Coach,
Referee, and Kata Instructor.
Sam
Merritt,
2nd dan in judo and
3rd dan in both jujitsu and Cuong Nhu, is
a Coach and Kata Instructor.
Sabine von Heiden Johnson,
1st dan in judo, is a former German
champion. She also is a Kata Instructor.
Ryan Schilling, 1st
dan in judo and Kata Instructor, is a regional
champion.
Ben
Bergwerf,
9th dan in jujitsu
and 8th dan in European Judo, is
several-time former champion of Wales. Bergwerf
Sensei is the only Professor of Jujitsu in the USJA.
He is former Chairman of the USJA Jujitsu Committee
and author of the USJA Jujitsu Manual.
One of the world’s most respected martial artists,
Bergwerf Sensei shares his skills at camps and
clinics throughout the country. He is a Master
Examiner. He is from the Netherlands and currently
teaches American Combat Judo at The Citadel.
Terry Q. Aumock, 3rd
dan in Judo and 2nd dan in jujitsu, is a
regional champion and recent Outstanding State
Competitor. He also a Coach, Referee, National Kata
Instructor and Judge, and Rank Examiner.
Bruce Spears, 3rd
dan in jujitsu, has an extensive background in law
enforcement. He is a Coach.
Dr.
Bruno Dantas, 3rd
dan in judo, is a Coach and Referee. Bruno is from
Brazil.
Lawrence van Sertima,
2nd dan in judo and jujitsu, offers
nearly a half-century of Judo experience to our
club. His specialty is groundwork. He is from
Guyana.
Ken
Ervin holds 1st
degree brown belt judo rank and has much teaching
experience. He teaches Judo at Ashley Hall School
for Girls.
