Terrence D.
Postell has been teaching and training
martial arts for 24 year and has obtained a
degree black belt. During the years of dedicated
training, he has had the privilege to experience
many masters and strong martial artists. He
began in 1982 training traditional Sang Moo
Kwan, under a
Master Instructor David
Washington Sabumnim.
During
his years of training Postell Sabumnim has had the opportunity
to study under world renowned masters of Gung Fu, Hapkido,
Japanese Karate, Ju Jitsu, and Tae Kwon Do. This of course was
with the permission of his instructor.
Training among the different arts has allowed him expand his
knowledge of the Marital Arts. His loyalty remains kept with the
Song Moo Kwan roots of Tae Soo Do (older form of Tae Kwon Do).
His high standard of training and outstanding reputation has led
him to place in approximately 250 tournaments. In which, he has
won three Grand Champion titles in both lower ranks and black
belt levels within the competition arena. It is stated that
because of Song Moo Kwan roots, a student is capable of
competing in the Open and Traditional Karate Tournaments. We are
an ever evolving style that will help the practitioner adapt to
their opponents.
Sabumnim Postell, philosophy is from traditional martial arts,
and it is quite simple. “Martial Arts is not an art of kicking
and punching”, it is about sharpening ones character and
developing ones spirit. It is also about knowing right from
wrong and using mental strength and discipline in ones life.
Believing in yourself and giving 100% at all times.” Discipline,
respect, loyalty and honor are the ideals of a true martial
artist. His intention is to make all Karate USA Academy students
“Martial Artists”. That is the art of true self defense.

Academy is to bring mind and body energy together. Our
professionally trained and highly qualified staff members
provide the ultimate traditional martial arts learning
experience to our students. Practice of the Martial Arts at
Karate USA Academy will enable an individual, both children and

 Karate
USA Academy traditional martial arts program incorporates a
combination of techniques and principles from a variety of
Traditional Korean Karate,that has has some linkage to some
Japanese Karate systems. This provides our students with a
well-balanced, of traditional and street awareness for a true
self-defense system.
