Judo – The Gentle Way
Judo is a traditional Japanese martial art and Olympic sport founded by Professor Jigoro Kano in 1882. The name Judo means "The Gentle Way," emphasizing the efficient use of energy, balance, technique, and the ability to use an opponent's movement to one's advantage.
Training includes throws, takedowns, grappling, pins, joint locks, and controlled submission techniques. Judo develops strength, coordination, flexibility, discipline, confidence, and respect. Practiced by children and adults worldwide, Judo offers opportunities for competition, self-defense, and personal development.
